Restaurants & Bars in The Gambia

The Gunjur Beach Lodge is not only a great place to stay but also a great place to eat. We specialize in locally caught fresh fish and seafood but can also offer steak or pasta.

Our spacious restaurant looks out over the garden to the sea. The tables and even the bar itself are all made from the wood of a single tree, fabulous thick slices of timber! Woodcarvings also adorn the walls and surfaces.

Before its closure in January 2008, the restaurant had a longstanding reputation for its excellent cuisine both locally and internationally. We aim to continue this tradition!

breakfast

A generous breakfast of tea or coffee, fruit juice, bread with butter, cheese or ham and jams, a plate of fruit and eggs to order is available within the price. We serve a daily breakfast in the restaurant, but if you want to have breakfast in your room, in the garden or on the beach it is possible!

Fresh fish, lobster and tiger prawns are available daily and we can offer a wide range of other seafood on request, Chef's specials change every other day and all diets can be catered for.

Evening barbeques can be arranged on request.

Packed lunches containing any of our dishes are available on request for those long walks, or if you just want to spend the day in a hammock birdwatching in our large gardens - we can make sure you do not go hungry or thirsty!
